Engineered parts are produced from 2D drawings and not from CAD models.
CAD systems rarely produce drawings immediately fit for parts manufacture.
Engineering drawings from CAD systems seldom meet industry Technical Product Specification standards.
If your CAD system purports to produce drawings compliant with a Technical Product spec, such as ISO/BS or perhaps ASME in the US then find out which specification. There are lots of International TPS's.
If you are producing engineering drawings for manufacture, at least do a self-check on a paper printout.
