I have taken technical lead at Sentio Voci for the new role – Life Cycle Cost modelling for defence maritime and aerospace systems.
Cost models can be whole life - procurement to decommissioning or any particular phase in the life cycle.
LCC models are based on operational analysis of an equipment to identify the usage factors, which contribute to the cost at each of its lifecycle phase. Cost factors are ranked in order of importance and a cost assigned to each of these factors.
Models of military equipment may have a duty cycle of twenty years or more. During that time, the cost factors change as well as their significance in the whole scheme of things.
Part of my role is to lease with client’s specialists groups to update, tune and refine their systems cost models.
